Students learn how to take a business global, the basics of international business law, differing cultures, ethics, and values, leveraging resources and capabilities, investing and foreign exchange, making alliances and how to manage a growing business in the global economy.

Course Description

Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management is a year-long course with 13 lessons, worth 1 Carnegie Unit. Each lesson takes 2 weeks to complete and students have 365 days to complete the course.

Entrepreneurship education prepares students to carry out the entrepreneurial process and experience the entrepreneurial spirit. Developing an innovative idea and writing a business plan are only the first steps of a successful business. The entrepreneurs of today and tomorrow’s competitive marketplace must also understand product, marketing, finance, human resources, global competition, and social, environment, and legal issues. Just as critical are communication skills, initiative, creativity, flexibility, and problem solving techniques. This course focuses on all of these concepts.

Intro to Business

Course Description

Intro to Business is an semester long course worth 1/2 Carnegie Unit. with 17 lessons. Each lesson takes a week to complete and students have 180 days to complete the course.

During the course, students study the role of business in the economy and how businesses are legal organized and functions. They also study how to hire, manage, and train employees, as well as an overview of financial analysis and management for a business.

Students are encouraged to participate in group collaborative projects and activities throughout the course. so that they may develop 21st Century Skills.
